Hey Otto,
Just a possible bug report. A very popular WP plugin is Google XML Sitemaps. It appears as though it has some odd conflict with the current stable version of SFC. Don’t know who’s at fault, but just a heads up in case you choose to look into it.

P.S. It could just be a coincidence. But another person reported it in the WP forums as well.

Any possible release date guess?
Will it support buddypress integration?
Or is it support buddypress atm? Couldnt see it supports buddypress in anywhere.

Otto, FYI the site owner just passed along some additional info:

The erroneous graphic gets inserted only when the auto-publish feature is enabled. When manually publishing there is no graphic inserted.

Were those posts made with SFC .999 and WP 3.0.1? Just want to know if all other things are being equal in this case. It really makes no sense what is happening.

Thanks, but it’s not a random image, it’s always the same image–the last one in the footer widget.

So what is the plugin supposed to do when there is no image in the content?

The Publish plugin only grabs images from the content. It can’t grab images from the site randomly. It just doesn’t work that way.

The filter doesn’t seem to be working.

What is the plugin supposed to do when there are no images in the content? That seems to be the issue–it’s picking up anything it can.

Thanks for the quick response! I will try the filter and see how it goes.

I was not entirely correct about where the social icons are located–they are actually in one of the footer widgets rather than in footer.php. Still, they are not within the post content.

It is a modified twenty-ten theme. There are no plugins installed that would be adding images to a post. It is a business site, mostly text: protechcomputersolutions.com. The link to FB is down in the footer. It keeps picking up the LinkedIn icon next to it (the last img on the page) for published posts. Does anything pop out as the cause?

That’s not a class, that’s a filter. You can use it to add classes to exclude.

Let’s say you wanted it to exclude any image with a “social” class. You could add this code to your theme’s functions.php file:

function exclude_social_class($classes) {
  $classes[] = 'social';
  return $classes;
}
add_filter('sfc_img_exclude','exclude_social_class');

Also, the plugin doesn’t look at your “blog template”. It looks at your post content. It *only* looks at the post content. So if you’re getting some other image there, than you probably have some kind of plugin adding that image to your post content. Meaning that instead of trying to add a class to the images, you need to figure out what classes those images already have and exclude them.
